This manga is truly one of the funniest I have read in a while. All the situations that the unlucky butler gets into, especially the simple misunderstandings that he creates, are some of the funniest material ever. Hayate has that personality where we would want to be like him, but not be him. With his master Nagi, those two make close to comedy gold. I also have to give props to the author, who takes no shame in his constant references to other manga, games, and any other culture references. The only real problem I have is with the story. Yes, the one chapter stories are some of the best I have read, but they just feel like fillers, so that the author just doesn't get to the overall story arc. Truthfully, I had a low score about it until the Golden Week Vacation Arc, because more than half of the previous chapters felt like filler. Besides the character introductions, the situations they got themselves into felt like it had no real impact to the characters themselves. While you will get to roll on the floor laughing at these situations, just don't expect much character development until well into the series.
